WHAT IS ROWING STAR?
Rowing Star is part of a broader national effort, supported by USRowing, to help youth rowing programs grow across the country. Through this four-week club program, kids will learn the basics, meet new friends, build confidence, and experience rowing in a safe, supportive environment, giving them a real chance to discover if the sport is right for them.

BUILT TO MAKE STARTING EASY
Getting your child into a new sport is a big step, the time, the effort, the cost, and, on top of that, not knowing whether they’ll love it. That’s exactly why we created Rowing Star: to make it easy for your child to get started and easy for you to say yes.

One of the biggest and most obvious concerns parents have is: “Will my child actually enjoy it, or am I just wasting money again?” With Rowing Star, you don’t have to worry about that, thanks to our 100% money-back guarantee.

With multiple weekly sessions to choose from, you pick the 2 that fit around school, other activities, and family life. The program bends to your schedule, not the other way around.

Safety comes first in every session. Coaches are always on the water, one with the participants and another in a safety boat. We use stable beginner boats, provide step-by-step guidance, and offer life jackets to anyone who would like one.

Rowing rewards effort and teamwork more than raw talent. Kids who've never found their sport often find rowing is the one where they finally click.
WHY YOUR KID WILL LOVE IT
This program is about much more than just rowing. It’s about teamwork, confidence, friendship, and trying something exciting and new.

There are few things more exciting than learning to row on the water during the fall.

Kids train together, learn together, and take part in fun events that make it easy to connect with others.

The sessions are structured, safe, and beginner-friendly, while still feeling like an adventure.
WHY ROWING?
Rowing is one of the best sports a kid can start. It builds resilience, grit, confidence, and teamwork, something that lasts long after the sport itself.

Rowing gets your kid away from screens and out on the water in a positive, active environment.

Rowing is a full-body sport that builds strength and endurance while being relatively low-risk for injuries.

In most team sports, kids sit out, get cut, or fight for playing time. In a boat, every seat matters and every kid is on the water every single session.

In most sports, a kid who's never played is years behind by high school. In rowing, nearly everyone starts in middle or high school. Your kid isn't behind, they're right on time.

Real strength and endurance, gentle on growing joints, and far lower injury risk than contact sports.

Because of the nature of the sport, rowing develops resilience, grit, confidence, and perseverance, the kind of character that stays with kids long after they're done rowing.

In rowing, everyone in the boat must work together. Kids learn communication, responsibility, and how to be part of a team.

Rowing builds not only physical strength but also mental strength, developing resilience, grit, confidence, and perseverance like few other sports.
Far fewer kids row than play football or basketball, which can make rowing one of the least crowded paths to a college team.

HERE’S THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE
This beginner program helps students go from complete beginner to confident novice in just 4 weeks, with expert coaching, a supportive group, and a fun summer environment.

We’ll begin on land with boathouse basics, safety, equipment handling, and rowing technique on the rowing machine. Then students will take their first strokes on the water in beginner-friendly boats.

Students will continue learning the rowing stroke, basic commands, boat handling, and how to row together with their crew.

This week focuses on teamwork, rhythm, confidence, and learning how to move together as a boat.

Students will bring everything together, refine their skills, try a fun mini race, and celebrate their progress. We’ll also share next steps for anyone who wants to keep rowing.
